Career Survival Week was held February 4-8, 2013 and was a week-long event preparing students for career fairs, networking nights and job searches. Career Survival Week kicked off with Career Advisors giving out free popcorn near the Library on Monday, February 4th. The What Employers Want Workshop/Panel took place at 5pm on Monday, February 4th. Over 50 students enjoyed dinner and the chance to hear from representatives from XTO Energy, Lockheed Martin, Northwestern Mutual, and Cigna on how to make the most of their time at career events and what they look for in candidates for their companies. Next, was Resume Review week which was an opportunity for students to drop off their resume at one of nine locations on campus from 10:30am-12:30pm (Tuesday-Thursday). Career Advisors would review the resumes and students could pick up their reviewed resume and a Career Survival Kit (resume paper, thank you notes, a list of companies attending Career Expo, and more) on Friday. The career advisors reviewed over 200 resumes during this event and reached over 500 students.
