When to Follow Up

Standard

Okay, so you applied for a job and got an interview! Sometimes we are so excited about the interview that we don’t think past answering questions and dressing for success.  Now that you have given them the perfect cover letter and resume (Phase 1) and allowed them to see the person behind the paper (Phase 2), it is time to embark on Phase 3: Follow-up.  Showing your interest past the interview may be the determining factor on who gets the job.  Follow this model for contacting employers after the interview.  If you get a job offer, the timing may speed up depending on the deadline to give an answer.  If this happens to you, feel free to give your career advisor a call to discuss strategy.
